What an incredible show at the Dunedin Town Hall! An evening showcasing 43 emerging designers from all around the world.
Designers travelled from Croatia, Poland, Argentina and even as far as the Dominican Republic to take part in the iD Emerging Designer Show. Those in attendance were treated to a unique catwalk that started downstairs on the centre stage and continued upstairs around the gallery. Dr Margo Barton said this style of catwalk was inspired by Tommy Hilfiger's rock circus show at London Fashion Week last year.
The winner of the iD Emerging Designer Show for 2018 was University of Zagreb graduate Damir Begovic. His collection was based on the motifs and traditional techniques of Slavonian folk costume and attire. Each of his models had their faces covered and were accompanied by a person to guide them as they walked, a striking and memorable collection of work.
The iD Emerging Designer Show aims to connect designers from around the world. Check out our favourite photos from the night.
