Recently, the New Zealand International Science Festival hosted a Science of Sport event in the Glenroy Auditorium.
Approximately 115 students represented by twenty schools attended the event which provided insight into the world of high performance sport.
Guest speakers were Nic Gill, Strength and Conditioning coach for the All Blacks, as well as Fiona Watson and Joanna Horan who are Southern Steel and Central Pulse Performance Analysts.
This event was a recipient of the Dunedin Venues Community Access Grant, which is a scheme that works to provide free or subsidised venue rental at Forsyth Barr Stadium or the Dunedin Centre. If you have a community event coming up and need a great space to host it, applications open until October 6th 2017, for events to be held from 1st January – 30th June 2018.
