International Ticketing Leader Phil King Appointed Chief Executive of Dunedin Venues
Dunedin Venues Management Limited (DVML) is delighted to announce the appointment of Phil King as its new Chief Executive Officer following a comprehensive international recruitment process.
Mr King joins DVML from Ticketek Australia, where he currently serves as Managing Director, leading one
DVML Board Chair Lee Piper said the appointment was a significant milestone for both the organisation and the city.
"Securing an executive of Phil's stature is a major coup and a definitive statement that Dunedin remains a heavyweight on the international events circuit," Mr Piper said.
"Dunedin already has a proven track record of attracting the world's biggest acts and sporting events. Phil's appointment reinforces our absolute resolve to cement the city's status as a 'must-play' destination for major global tours."
Mr Piper said Mr King's industry relationships and commercial experience would play an important role in supporting future growth opportunities for the organisation and the wider region.
Mr King said leading DVML represented an exciting opportunity to build on a strong foundation.
"Dunedin has built a phenomenal legacy as a world-class, 'must-play' destination for major acts touring New Zealand, and the opportunity to lead DVML at this pivotal time is incredibly exciting."

Mr King will officially commence his role in mid-September and will relocate to Dunedin with his family.
